This palatial building has<br \/>\ndozens of interesting quirks; ironically the stately banquet hall, with its intricate stained-<br \/>\nglass panels, is meant to signify the virtues of good government. Those passing<br \/>\nthrough the Palace\u2019s western courtyard will come across the Patio de la Paz, a<br \/>\nmonument depicting two hands. This was where Guatemala&#039;s Peace Accords were<br \/>\nsigned in 1996 (which ended the country\u2019s 30-year civil war). Admission: Q40<br \/>\n(foreigners), free for locals. Hours: 9:00 am \u2013 12:00 pm &amp;amp; 2:00 pm \u2013 5:00 pm<br \/>\n(weekdays only).
